Building a RWD nitro drifter | 3Racing Sakura D5N!

One ticked off the RC bucket list 😂
Had always wanted to build a nitro powered RC drifter based on a dedicated RWD chassis and I think I did a pretty good job!

I call this the Sakura D5N

Base chassis is a Sakura D5 & nitro bits stolen from a HSP buggy! Few 3D printed parts (thanks Matt!), some nitro tuning (thanks Steve!) & few helping hands (thanks Tudor & TRM!) got this project together successfully 🥳

Although not perfect & smooth as a stock D5, it drifts pretty decent. With some chassis tuning it could get better 🤙🏼

Thanks for watching & supporting :) cheers!

Massive respect for pulling this off - and probably the best RWD nitro effort on youtube. It's very very tricky, which is why not many people have achieved it. Well done! Nice clip, thanks for sharing.

wicked! always wanted to make a nitro rwd. had a 4wd touring chassis, we went through so many tires. i was then told about using two hole saw sizes to cut tires from the cheap flutterboards kids use in pools, they work great and cheap as shops like pararuber often has off cuts for free too.

it’s just like trying to drift an automatic rwd rotary car .. the absence of clutchkick and perfect throttle modulate makes it harder
