I bought a used CPS VG200 (I know, a lousy move for getting a precision instrument). During the first use, It was reading the vacuum fine but then it decided to stop at about 1700 microns then go up. I bought a new gauge of the same model (you're welcome!) and just finished installing my mini split. This time, the vacuum held at 280 microns.

The used gauge may just need cleaning, but if that doesn't do, it is due for a repair. Although I'm not a professional HVAC tech (have the EPA license, though), I noticed that backup equipment of everything seems vital to HVAC industry (gauges, hoses, valve core removal tool, etc...). I cannot afford a 2nd vacuum pump, but I have spare for all other equipment.

The shraeder valve does not unscrew. It is pressed in. How many are wrecking their Vacuum gauges?

No video to properly show how to clean it. My vg 200 isn't working, I probably got oil in it. It's one week old. Very disappointed with all my overpriced cps gauges.

Hello, can you help me, I have a cps vg200 vacuum meter.And it shows me zero microns on the screen and it is not connected to the vacuum pump

Damn thing wont stop reading 29"/in mercury or single digit microns with actual pressure on it.. thing is nearly brand new but was given to me by another tech. This unit was his spare, he had to perform the cleaning procedure on his meter and says it works supposedly, is a syringe necessary as there is a smaller oriface inside the 1/4" fitting? I put some alcohol inside and let it drain a bit once or twice but Ill try it again... is there a way to replace it at a supply house or send it in for repairs? Be easier to just get a new one and send it on thru at this point, irritating me.. thing is literally brand new out of the box and the readings are so out there Richard Dryfus would use it to top his mashed potato monolith..
