Erryk didn't kill himself because of his failure protecting the queen, but his agony having to kill his brother 😓

I honestly thought that this was a great episode. The actor who played Otto Hightower is a great actor. He did a wonderful job with acting in this episode.

I hope the consequences of killing all the rat catchers are shown in this season. Aegon is blind and incompetent. Good thing he fired the only person with a brain on his side 😂

Imagine choosing the guy who ignored his job to get it on with your MUM as the hand of the king!

I don’t think your read of erryk killing himself for failing to protect the queen is right. Through out the episode we hear how they were like one soul in two bodies, and as he kills his brother he confesses how he still loves him. It’s the tragedy of killing his brother and close west friend that motivates his suicide, and the apology to Rhenera is because he won’t be able to serve her anymore

I think this episode really illustrated how both alicent, and Rhaenyra's lives decades later are still haunted by the shadow of exploitative older men of their adolescence rhaenyra reckoning has been a slower burn whereas alicent's was relatively immediate.

Blood and Cheese getting caught so easily adds to the comedic element.

Alicent isn’t the Queen anymore — it’s Helena.

Gotta give props to HOTD, as soon as it was asked who did this? Camera immediately lands on Larys Strong!

Interesting take on Alicent "not comforting" Aegon towards the end of the ep. I read it differently. It looked like she was in high dudgeon and about to tear Aegon a new one as she entered his room - but seeing him in tears and grieving, she took pity and left him in peace. She didn't go and comfort him, but she _was_ merciful.

I thought it a good ep on the whole. Can't wait to see what Aegon thinks of Cole's 'brilliant' plan to have Arryk slay Rhaenyra (these bloody names, I never know if I'm spelling them correctly), when he learns not only did the knight fail, but he was killed into the bargain. And I love that Mysaria was instrumental in saving Rhaenyra's life.
