Well in case you ever wonder
Why I do the things I do
My mother used to sing to me
around afternoon

And you know the days of sorrow
Yes we’re all gonna have a few
There were times alone at night I think
I would not have made it through

But I don’t sit around and count my losses
I don’t worry about no bosses
I got no guns, to stick by I

I don’t need to punish the lawless
Everyone’s got to bear their crosses
I got no guns, to stick by
Well I tip my hat to the soldiers
In the sand and in the streets
I wish we didn’t go to war, but I know we can’t retreat

So don’t tell me there’s a reason
Or some justice, you can claim (you can claim)
Just say this is a crazy world
That’s been driving you insane

I ain’t joining no generals army
I’m not fighting for no one’s party
I’ve got no guns to stick by

I ain’t standing for no one’s anthem
Unless that song makes me feel like dancing
I got no guns to stick by
I got no guns to stick by

I don’t sit around and count my losses
I don’t worry about no bosses
I got no guns, to stick by

I don’t need to punish the lawless
Everyone’s got to bear their crosses
I got no guns, to stick by

I ain’t joining no generals army
I’m not fighting for no one’s party
I’ve got no guns to stick by

I ain’t standing for no one’s anthem
Unless that song makes me feel like dancing

I got no guns to stick by (x4)

How doesn't this have more views? I've listened about 40 times in the last day. It spoke directly to my soul. I've recently faced some big demons and found my power. I asked god/the universe/me for some help and boy did I get an answer.

I'm so free. I've literally got no guns to stick by and finally I don't sit around counting my losses which is what I've done my whole life. I'm so grateful. Just so damn grateful.

This song came at exactly the right time and is now the anthem for this amazing transformative period in my life. The best time of my life. Thank you Cory.

I'll tag you when I finish my cover of this 😉

Oh man Cory this performance is massaging my soul. I can't stop listening and singing along. I was a US infantryman and I went to war. But I no longer believe in it. You can be sure "I ain’t joining no generals army" ever again haha. Thanks for this <3 <3 <3
