Panormitis Monastery, Symi, Greece - July 2013

On the Greek Isle of Symi, the Monastery of the Archangel Michael Panormitis is a Greek Orthodox monastery built on the southwest coast in the early 18th century. It overlooks a bay, and is still inhabited by monks. This video shows views of and from the monastery as well as views of the approach to the monastery, it's clock tower, and then the journey away from the Monastery on board a Rhodes bound ferry.

My trip was to Symi in August 2015. Adventure on Symi Island began on the Panormitis Bay. We were on the boat and we entered this bay after the afternoon hours, the sun would down about 2 hours later. Meanwhile, in the church which was the part of this monastery there was a baptising ceremony and the church was reflecting to outside by loudspeakers the voices which was belong to the baby that baptised. At the same time, sun was setting, we were swimming alongside of the boat. That was the most mysterious, gloomy and ungorgettable atmospehere that I have been in. I am missing these days and I love Symi and Panormitis.
