Mr Zalai again shows us why he is one of the world’s greatest violinists. I just don’t understand why he isn’t more widely recognized. There are lesser violinists out there who are signed up with major record labels and are performing with elite orchestras. It seems Mr Zalai belongs to that rare class of under-appreciated artists (Aaron Rosand, Steven Staryk, Oscar Shumsky, David Nadien, etc) who are 1st rate artists, but are not necessarily household names. Look at how EASY he can play this piece !!!! Antal Zalai and Roman Kim are two great violinists underestimated.

The part at 2:37, no one has ever played better than this. NO ONE. Find me one, I challenge you (yes Im counting Midori's recording and gill shaham's amazing rendition as well, and also the great szeryng). This is absolute perfection. Every single time I listen to this piece played by any soloist, I always try to listen for that 2:37 part and almost always it does not sound EASY and convincing. This was breathtaking.
