"College" has a different meaning in Canada versus the United States. In Canada, college is cheap (I think Americans call it community college or vocational college) and University is expensive. Loads of Canadians have student debt from university, but it's always manageable because the government/company that loaned you the money wants you to pay it back.

as a canadian, yeah college is super cheap here compared to other places. i paid about $4k-5k for like three semester’s worth of college, plus an additional eh ~$1kish for books. uni here is insane. and dont even get me started on college/uni res 😭 i know someone who lives four hours away and had to live in res and now theyre like $20k+ in debt 😭 im in debt too but its so much less and my tax returns are paying off most of it. were lucky, thank goodness

I literally made enough in like 2 years of work to pay off my student loans here in Canada, now I went to a trade school and lived from home, and my program didn’t have textbooks, but still, where we fail at housing, we succeed at least in education prices

Cuz college in Canada isn’t what you’re referring to. The equivalent here is university and it comes with like ruining debt which is why I only have a grade twelve education 😂
