Oh man, this overlapping triad pair sound, I friggen love it. Can’t believe I’d never thought of voicing them like that before, but that’s like the sound I’ve had in my head that I’ve been trying to find for ages. Will be spending a lot of time in the shed with these. Thanks mate!

As usual i'm just GaGa over your video. I love these little tidbits of ideas you present. Sometimes i go off for days or weeks developing "my own take" (probably just some of the most obvious variations) on what you so charmingly presented. (sure beats watching TV) LYM !!!

"GAGA chords" really sounds like a nice label for this idea of IV|V triad pairs. That's also a catchy name for an exercise in D to practice during the next few days and see where it takes me.

Just add water and stir to make a Steely Dan! Really enjoyed this way of thinking about modes and voicings that don’t sound predictable but clearly present the harmony.

I love using triad pair voicings! I tend to separate the triads and move them in contrary motion for an interesting comping (or soloing) technique. Two major triads a whole step apart give a very modern sound on and altered dominate. The G & A from your example would work on a Db7alt. THANKS!

Just an FYI … It is a traditional and standard procedure when numbering books etc. to start with the first page on the right hand side. Thus odd pages are on right page and even pages are on the left.

Now that is out of the way, where were you with all this great information when I started playing keyboards 70 years ago? I enjoy your teaching. There are tons of great things that you share. The young have no idea how lucky they are!

Went GAGA when I started playing the overlapping thumb clusters. The G over A cluster reminded me of opening of a cool jazz standard, but ?
