Here, It is shown how to prepare soil map for the SWAT model. You can use either the Fao or World soil map. After clipping the study area out of the world map, you need to inform the FAO soil codes to your SWAT database. To do that, you need the Map Window interface and MWSWAT. Another way is to copy and replace the whole corrected database with the default one. In upcoming videos, we will go through how to make LookUp tables for input maps (Soil and land-use), how to prepare weather data, and how to Run your SWAT model.

What if the soil map isn't synchronised with the MSWAT2012 databases? I.e.: some of the soil didn't exist in databases but in soil maps it has. Do we need to adjust the MSWAT2012 databases or just add on? Anyone can help me?

Hi! I downloaded the FAO Soil ESRI data but when I loaded it in ArcMap, it says that the shapefile does not have any spatial reference :( I have tried downloading it a number of times but would still end up with the same result. I was wondering if you could tell me what I'm doing wrong huhu. Thank you!!
