"Simplicity is the final achievement" - Frédéric Chopin

My mom passed away in 2020...she lost her battle with cancer. She was my touchstone. We both played the piano for years. This piece was her favorite, & I played it at her funeral, tears streaming down my face. It was a precious moment..

I wish I got to meet chopin personally.
His music sounds like he had a broken heart.

“Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable”

And comfort me, this piece certainly does.
For a long time (over 4 years) i've been dealing with increasing amounts of self hatred and deep melancholy, that is slowly becoming crippling. Even going out to just buy groceries sometimes is becoming a challenge.

And it comforts me to know, through music, that someone probably has also felt the same. It helps the bottom of my heart to be able to express the feelings that have accompanied me through whole days, weeks and sometimes months.

Prelude in E Minor feels really diferent from the Funeral March. The Funeral March is perfect to mark a tragedy, the loss of someone, something really tragic.
But, this melody, perfectly represents a deep melancholy, a much more personal one, some of those momments that only you has experienced. Sadness that doesn't exacly needs a tragedy to start from. It's something that only affects one person, until they decide to give up on their lives.

Thank you Chopin, and thank you to upload this version of the song, it really makes a diference in my day.

I have always loved a recording where you can hear the pianist breathing. It adds so much to the music for me. As if you were sitting on the bench next to them

I don't remember where, but I read that Chopin himself asked to play this at his funeral.

Chopin always gives me that "We live in a society" vibe

I can hear him breathing, I can hear him in my head talking like he is discussing his problems and his sorrows to me, like he is in a loophole and he doesn't know what to do as he sighs.

Making audible sadness and melancholy in few notes.
One masterpiece of humanity.

0:44 This part right here. It's genius.
Every time I hear it I feel like someone stabs me in the heart.

As with Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, Chopin's haunting Prelude OP 28 no 4 has such an overwhelming sorrow
to it. I feel connected to it more than I care to admit. Thank you for posting this beautiful classical work by one
of the masters.

Sublime in it's expression... Chopin could caress the texture of solitude with sound....
