So this has ruined my life - how can I call anything else beautiful once I have heard and seen this. Simply magical

When I was so much younger, I accompanied my father on pipe organ when he often would sing this aria. He would tell me that this was one of the few songs that would bring out a deep emotional connection either at weddings or at funerals - a measure of passage, optimism and hope. This rendition brings me back to his memory and for that, I am grateful.

The singing is astonishing but I also liked how in the video he submissively surrenders himself to the compassionate nature. That was so good.

Franco Fagioli is another amazing countertenor. We're so blessed to have singers like him living in this day and age.

I was watching an interview with the amazing, phenomenal, extraordinary Celeste "Callie" Day when she mentioned this aria from the 1738 opera Serse by George Frideric Handel that I've never heard before. She didn't say who her favorite singer was to perform this so I clicked on this one. At first I thought the gentleman was just an actor in the video but when he opened his mouth I was in complete shock and awe (in the best way). I was blown away and delighted! I'm not sure if I was breathing because I didn't want to miss not one second. After it was done the emotional floodgates burst open and I did what is known as the "ugly cry". It took me several minutes and two paper towels later to regain my composure. Thank you for sharing this beautiful performance and allowing others to "experience" this brilliant soul's voice. Splendid! Bravo! Take care and stay healthy. (Smile)

¡¡¡¡ Bravo !!!

This is simply amazing. Franco Fagioli is blessed with an amazing voice and uses it splendidly to bring one of the maestro's best arias to life. One can almost feel the gratitude of finding shade under a giant tree on a blistering hot day. Would love to hear him sing live.
