Contracts are business tools. There are different types of contracts. Verbal (Parol) Written (Explicit), Implied (Based upon performance), Quasi-contracts, Gentlemen's Agreements (Handshake)...etc.

Ryan has/had a contract with GoldenBoy but it appears that they had issues in the ancillary relationship.
