Unboxing:
1. We have our mounting template
2. A window sticker
3. A 1m long network cable
4. A security bracket
5. A pack of screws and anchors and a reset needle
6. Up next, an adapter to power the camera. This camera doesn’t support PoE. If you connect this camera to your network over WiFi or a network cable, you’re going to need to run a power cable too.
7. Here is a 4.5m or 15ft power extension cable
8. Lastly, we have the camera

Camera Specs:
1. It’s pretty small in size at about 11cm high or 4 1/3 inches.
2. Feels like a nice quality plastic. I’d recommend installing it under an eave or under a deck, somewhere to protect it from directly getting pounded with heavy rain and wind.
3. Using any of the camera’s user interfaces you can turn or pan the lens; you can point the lens up or down (or tilt) and you can zoom in. This camera has a 3x zoom which is great for the price point of this camera. With 1x zoom, the lens is at 2.8mm with a horizonal angle of 90 degrees and vertical one of 68. When zoomed in all the way, we have an 8mm lens and a horizontal angle of 48 degrees and vertical angle of 37.
4. Behind that lens, the image is projected onto a CMOS sensor 1/2.7 inches in size. It supports an amazing 5mp resolution at 2560 X 1920 pixels up to 25fps.
5. Continuing on the tour, around the lens we have 2 sets of lights. First off, we have 12 infrared night visions lights good for up to 12m or 40ft. We also have LEDs to act as a little spot light.
6. Right below the lens, we have an environment lighting sensor to tell them camera when it needs to switch to black and white nighttime mode.
7. On the top of the camera there is a status LED. When it’s flashing, that means the WiFi connection is not configured or it has failed. When solid, the camera is booting up or the WiFi is connected.
8. Since this camera supports 2-way audio, there is a mic located here and speaker here on the back.
9. Next, we have the micro-SD card slot here at the bottom of the camera. There is a watertight hatch and the maximum card size is 256gigs to record motion detection footage. That’s about 72 hours of motion detection footage.
10. Next to the card slot there is a reset button. Use that needle and press on the little button for 5 seconds to reset the camera back to factory defaults.
11. Lastly, we have the 2 leads. There’s a network connection to hard wire this to your NVR or network. The other connection here is the 12v DC connection to power the device. Just as an FYI, I connected the camera to a power meter and it uses just over 4 watts unless the spot lights are on, then it uses 7.

Location tests (daytime and nighttime footage in addition to audio tests)
1. Inside - Awesome picture during the day but a little purple fringing around high contract differences. Good footage at night with the IR lights and also good with the spot lights on. The audio is also pretty impressive.
2. Back deck - Also impressive during the day with good coverage. At night, my yard is a little too big for this camera but you can still see over 200 ft away.
3. The driveway - The PTZ ability allows me to keep an eye on the front door, garage doors and the driveway itself. The license plate test was pretty impressive as we can see the details 90ft away. At night, the plate’s reflective surface keeps us from seeing much. It easy to see that this camera will be more suited for a residential area where driveways are shorter and there are streetlights.

We end off with a cold test in -30 degree weather and a siren distance test.

Enjoyed your video-what a nice home! I just bought an E1. It is all plastic where some have an aluminum shell. I like the siren feature. I have a dual band router and I am having a problem with it not getting either band. I'm going to give it another go but it may go back to the store.

When you installed it on the ceiling its video is upside down, right? Is that possible to view the live streaming in normal orientation?

I notice that when you play back the video that you recorded the window that pops up says that the video was recorded using LOW resolution. Mine says HIGH upon Playback if it was recorded in 1080 P. It would say LOW if the video was recorded in FLUENT resolution.

Hallo. Schönes Video. Rechts neben dem Symbol für die Steuerung der Kamera findet sich ein Fadenkreuz. "Wachpunkt". Der 4. Unterpunkt nennt sich hier "Intervall". Könnt ihr den Punkt erklären? LG Olli
(In Klammern steht Sekunden. Die Grundeinstellung beträgt 60 Sekunden. Könnt ihr ja erklären wozu das gut ist?)

I have some news like others from Reolink. I'm having problems with this model only. It has an absurd delay and I'm not using wifi, it's connected directly to the intelbras nvd, I've tried to connect it to a switch and then nvd. As the day goes on, the delay will increase. After they come back without delay I can't figure out the problem. Anything going through this?

Hi I'm struggling with a PTZ IP Camera. I don't know the brand of the camera or the IP Address. The camera powers on and everything but I can't get it to show up on my Hikvision NVR. None of the protocols on the NVR works on the camera. It's definitely not a wiring problem as i took it off and back to my office, there i plugged it in with brand new cables and even swapped the cables now. I have tried accessing it through a static and DHCP Network.... any advice please??

I’m interested in how you would bypass this camera not being POE. It is the only thing making me hesitant about getting this one.

Hi, Great review, heaps of good information. Just asking if I install the reolink app on my windows pc or laptop, do I need an NVR. The cat6 cable will be going from the camera to my router and from my router to my pc or laptop. Can I open the app on my pc/laptop and use it the same as the phone app without an NVR. Thanks

Thank you for a great review. I think it is a very good camera. Do you know if it would connect to Synology NAS? I am not sure if it has ONVIF or not.
