Fire can be destructive, but have you ever wondered about the positive impacts it can have on landscapes? Join Conservation Nebraska for a presentation from Gerry Steinauer. Gerry will be talking about the use of prescribed burns to restore oak woodland ecosystems, specifically in the Nebraska City region of our state.
Gerry Steinauer grew up in Millard, Nebraska. He received an undergraduate degree in Biology from Wayne State College and a master’s degree in ecology from the University of South Dakota. Gerry has been the plant ecologist/botanist for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for about 30 years.
