Israel and Iran were at peace and on friendly terms. In 1979, however, the Islamic revolution in Iran brought about this fundamentalist Islamic regime, bent on Israel's destruction and responsible for 90% of the terror both in that regime and worldwide. Iran has armed and funded terror attacks in Israel, but those terror groups have murdered Jews in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. They are transnational criminals who have engaged in money laundering, as well as drug and human trafficking. This is what happens when a country falls within the grip of an Islamic government. Only death, misery, and oppression follow. Iran was a thriving monarchy with a stern Shah, but no religious fundamentalism. This rile of the Ayatollahs permits no personal freedoms, even demanding that women dress in a certain way. They've wasted billions on weapons and funding terror groups who persist in attacking Israel. Billions that could have been pumped into the Iranian economy lifting the standard of living for millions of Iranian citizens.
