Some years, there are so many excellent performances that you just have to consider how relevant it is to be recognized and nominated. It's difficult to award just one of these performances, but the correct choice was made. For those of you who haven't seen "Escape at Dannemora, " I highly recommend it.
Having said that, I'll never understand the comments leveled at Patricia Arquette's speeches; I have a lot of respect for her in that she utilizes these rare opportunities to direct attention towards specific issues. It isn't some attempt to grandstand. And it would be a mistake to classify her statement(s) as politically motivated or a byproduct of identity politics. Perspective and awareness are usually the first casualties in such a polarizing environment -- regardless of beliefs, those are universal concepts we all should have the ability to appreciate.

People can say whatever they want about Patricia. But I appreciate her shedding light on some production companies not paying people their overtime.

I bet none of you have seen "Escape at Dannemora". Arquette is outstanding in it and deserved this more than Amy Adams. I love the latter, but this year she didn't have an undeniable performance neither in "Vice" nor in "Sharp Objects".

Amy Adams deserved this award! But mark my word...just as regina king has been the underdog at the emmys 3 times and defied all odds, Amy will also win the emmy and it will be well deserved!

I am down to practically no one I want to watch in a movie or on TV. Can't these spoiled, overrated actors just act? If you want to make a difference in this country when it comes to policy change, than go to Washington and stop acting.
