1. More ink, more concentrated ink 2. Thinner string, WAY THINNER STRING
thewildarcher
Literally how could you not figure out that your string was too thick?
jess
I watched this video feeling a little cringe because it's a really easy job and everything that gone wrong needed just a little more attention... Thinner cotton string and concentrated watercolor could make it work
nathalhices
lol why is it viral now? we did that in 4th grade
iyajustiya
I found that normal thread for sewing works very well with water based ink and calligraphy ink
sm_nth
Surprise fact: The string is super thick...
"Bet you didn't notice"

Tip: use thin and about 70cm long string and fold it into halves till it reaches a size of about 10cm and then dip its one end into one colour and other into a different colour.. U can also dip the middle part into some other colour... Then open the string and lay it on the paper and apply the technique... The painting comes more beautiful than the single coloured painting..

i remember having to do this for art class in 5th grade
dane.
it is not working because you're doing a lot of things wrong. that's a simple third grader artwork. and we just used thread and watercolor. why are you in nifty if you can't pull that string art off?
sammysamsam
idk why this is viral, imo it kind of looks like an elementary school art project 🤷♀️
RACHE.
I used to do this as a second grader in my summer art camp😂😂😂😂
tasneemnulwala
Am I the only one who kinda thinks some of them look really bad

Idk why she didn't try to use more string in the beginning. It looked like she wasn't using enough. I just think it might be worth it to try.

I cringe everytime she says “unless those videos are fake” o come on!!!!
sammysamsam
Its not the paint, its how you place the string (not rope). Even I tried it and mine turned out much better than this. Now can I get a job at nifty for not failing as badly as her!!
thehowstation
You’re supposed to use a thread, not a small rope.

I have never seen this before. What a cool craft. Sometimes you have to experiment a couple time(or a hundred times) to get the results you want.

Cool! I've tried this before, but just using acrylic craft paint and water, and I used plain old thread. I also used a heavy book instead of just a hand, to give even pressure over the paper. It worked really well! I need to try again using thicker string like you did! Fun! I'd love to see more experimental (easy) art videos like these! :)
megan
I did this and you can’t really mess it up! The ones I made were no close to perfect but I still loved it

String art sounds fun. I feel as though it would be hard to do first time round but it would be worth it in the end ❤
