Hey guys, here’s a look at 50 mods which makes Minecraft feel like a sequel, or a game for next-gen! All these mods try to keep Minecraft mostly the same, while dramatically improving in some areas. This is probably the first part, and I’ll likely do a second part to this video in the future which will cover another 50 mods! This video is for Fabric, as I’m going to wait for 1.18 before doing the same for Forge. But practically all these mods are available for Fabric 1.17.1 (which is the latest version at the time of this video), except from Better Foliage!

If you wanted to install all 50 of these mods, you can, I did have them running together, with just a few incompatibilities. This Rocks doesn’t work with Overhauled Overworld, Immersive Portals doesn’t work with Optifine. I did compile it into a modpack too, which just includes the mods, no configurations, and you can get it here from CurseForge:

As a fan of purely visual mods that are client-sided and add nothing to the game, I'd love seeing a video on a list of those you can find!

Designing Modpacks can be quite fun. I'm glad somebody like you with a LOT of experience with good mod showcases on his channel is getting into it!

FYI as of a few days ago… The latest versions of Iris Shaders and Immersive Portals are compatible on 1.17.1!

Not all shaders work with Iris yet, but I’ve had great results with SEUS Renewed and Sildurs

I think that a good mod that fills in some of the animal gaps in Minecraft is Aardvark’s Weird wonderful wild. It’s an animal mod, but it adds in a lot of animal I’ve never really seen in a Minecraft mod before like Velvet worms and Serows. It’s pretty cool. Personally, I think the mod list you choose is great though!

One mod I swear by when playing on 1.12 is cubic chunks. It allows chunks to stack vertically, forever. You can use any custom worldgen settings, and worlds can be as tall or deep as you want. Also includes a vertical render distance allowing you to not render chunks too high or low from you, increasing performance.

It's a shame you didn't mention Iris.
It basically replaces Optifine, with improved speed, bug fixes, faster shaders (And shader switching), plus compatibility with Immersive Portals.

These mods are so awesome that at least 90% of them can literally convince you to find some more mods, a couple datapacks from Vanilla Tweaks alongside them and start a new letsplay/roleplay the same day you found them.

As a seasoned Forge-only modded Minecraft player, I find videos like this extremely helpful, as I want to dabble in some vanilla+ modpacks soon. And several of these mods were the equivalent of what I already use on Forge except one that wasn't mentioned in this video, and that is 2 mods called "Where Is It?" and Chest Tracker.

"Where Is It?" is a Fabric equivalent of t Forge's FindMe mod (or that functionality from Extra Utilities 2). Chest Tracker is a clientside only alternative that can be used on any server (even vanilla) that doesn't have the mod installed on the server. It keeps track locally the contents of the inventories that you interact with, and lets you find items easily if you're in the area.

Out of all the mods you just showed us, the number one thing that should be in the basegame is that you can't hurt your pets

I dont play Minecraft since 2012 or so, and randomly got this video on my feed. I always loved modding, specially in Skyrim and I've been watching timelapses of mega builds from Minecraft.

It's very frustating to see that many of these features on this Top 50 weren't included by the developers in vanilla. I checked what has been included since 2012 in the Wiki and it was really disapointing. It's like the developers only make small updates every 5 months or more with very little content despite having billions in their bank. How is it that they didnt make these basic changes vanilla, like: animations, lighting, stacked interactable objects working together, pickable ground clutter, many more animal /monster variety, much better biomes, particles in general and Artificial Inteligence? What a shame, the richier they are, the less they work, it happens in every game when it gets a high level of success...

William Wyther's Overhauled Overworld and it's add-ons are by far the best biome/world transformation mods out there
