The feeling when you know you can just play on anything is so relieving. Don't have to have your own personal gear all the time. Sit down. Play. Get up. Get paid. Leave. No equipment. No breaking down and loading a truck/bus/van Play in all your keys. Its actually fun.

Edit: Also if you're capable of learning 1 key that generally means you can learn the rest.

Just learn a song in every key and you'll be fine. The only time I've used transpose is to practice along with a track which is in a different key than what will be sung live. It's just to get my muscle memory for the key I need to be in if that makes sense. I've never used transpose live...YET 😂 However, I've been burned by other musicians who have because they transposed on a board and I couldn't figure out how to bring it back to the default setting...DISASTER!!! 😔🤣🤣🤣

One trick I learned is to instead transpose to a key you DONT know. It'll force you to figure out notes. You have to have an understanding of how you want it to sound though.

One thing for sure is that IF SOMEONE takes your advice & learn all the KEYS, they will be a MASTER Piano player.
