My introduction to Wolvie was through the original SW line. In fact he was the first figure I bought when the toys first came out. Loved how his claws snapped over the wrist and have always thought that was a great way to represent the claws in plastic. Looking forward to getting this. The nostalgia is strong.

A lot of people forget that Wolverine was colored as such like the new Secret Wars figure in much of the 80s comic runs. Look at some of the old 80s comics, and you'll see that the brown part of the suit was more reddish before the Jim Lee era. And I'm glad the Secret Wars Wolverine figure reflects that, coz that's the color I've been looking for in a brown suit Wolverine. Even the thin brown lining on the front of the torso, Wolverine was drawn like that in some instances early on. Plus the large cowl ears are appropriate for Wolverine's 80s era. I don't mind the articulation as some people think how 'outdated' it is. It works just fine.

I have the original Secret Wars Wolverine from the 80s and the brown has sort of a purple hue to it.

Had the original as well. This one looks slightly wonky to me but it’s still a pick up, especially since I don’t currently own a brown suit wolvie! Thanks for this early review

I don't mind Logan aka Wolverine having a smirking head sculpt but I wished Hasbro also included an angry cowled up Wolverine head sculpt because the John Byrne brown/ yellow suit is my 2nd favorite look, While I may not have him in hand, Fantastic review overall.

Yeah, I sold my original MAFEX in August, canceled the ML and got CT Toys and I’ll probably get the proper color upgrade whenever it is. I really dislike how the bright they made everything. I know it’s comic accurate but I don’t need every slightly different version of his costume.

The colore is based off of the original Secret Wars toy. It has a great nostalgic feel to it.

I think you might be right about the Civilian Wolverine being part of the Regular X-Men '97 Wave cause I believe there is also a Wolverine and Storm 2-Pack Rumored (Speculations are Storm will reuse the Classic Black Suit Costume, and this might be where they throw in the Brown Suit Wolverine which will most likely be a repaint of this one with a darker brown but with the tiger stripe wolverine masked head)

the ORIGINAL secret wars toy "brown" is pretty much PURPLE (IMO it's close to Pantone's Rhododendron, #722b3f) the new one is close to a burnt sienna #a93400, but IMO the wave 1 is the ideal color, burnt umber #6e260e

Some of these Marvel toys fly off the shelves! I’m not a big Logan fan but I like this one bcuz of the classic colors, the boots really make it come together nicely and it’s not an ugly brown so it doesn’t throw it off to make ppl not like it…

Actually the shade of brown on the original Mattel Secret Wars Wolverine figure has a much darker tone on the suit than that ML version there.
