Ooooh, so cool. I became really interested in these creatures last year, in 2022. I realized I knew nothing about them. I've since been watching a lot of videos about them. I'm in Ohio, and maybe one of our many Zoos have them, but I never researched that. This was a very informative video, thank you.

Armadillos are the only surviving family of the order Cingulata, all twenty-two extant species comprise of the family Dasypodidae, armadillos are omnivorous, there are four extant subfamilies of armadillos, Chlamyphorinae (Fairy Armadillos), Dasypodinae (Long-Nosed Armadillos and Fossil Relatives), Tolypeutinae (Three-Banded Armadillos, Giant Armadillo, and Naked-Tailed Armadillos), and Euphractinae (Six-Banded Armadillos, Dwarf Armadillo, and Hairy Armadillos), out of all four subfamilies, Chlamyphorinae is the most basal of all the subfamilies as fairy armadillos have shorter snouts than other armadillos, which were retained from prehistoric armadillos that went extinct, while Dasypodinae is the sister group to clade containing the subfamilies Tolypeutinae and Euphractinae
