QQ question for another time . But why do most sequencers/grooveboxes only have 4 bars ? I have an electribe 2s and although it has 16 pads theres only 4 bars, when i was looking for one they all seem to have the same ?

I’m glad Gaz mentioned the oily coating that can develop over time. Both side panels on my Moog Sub Phatty have this issue. I’ve managed to sort one side using alcohol but the side is too far gone. As someone who takes great care of my synths, I find this very frustrating. The user experience has been compromised, and I’ve just left it on a shelf which is a shame. I emailed Moog, and they didn’t acknowledge my communication let alone reply. Not good enough.

Just a bit of work, isopropyl alcohol or windex and a cloth (and gloves people!!)
and you can remove that sticky goo. Who hasnt got a vat of hand sanitiser left these days. Worth the effort for a valued piece of gear

I hate the ”soft touch” coating as it makes any object to have an expiry date. As a buyer I’d like to demand to have that expiry date written somewhere in the product description. And push companies to get rid of it or make the chemistry more stable so that it lasts.

Rubbing alcohol takes that rubberized coating off when it turns inevitably into nasty goo with little effort.
