For those who are interested, Blackberry Smoke did a cover of this song with Jimmy Hall (this guy in the video) singing and playing harmonica. It’s well worth your time.

Great band that doesn't get their due. That song is as fresh today as when it was first released. 50 years on, it still rocks.

The Midnight Special was the best show ever. Especially for those of us who dearly love music.

My wife had never heard this song. We are both around 60. How was that possible? It was one of my favorites as a kid. We grew up in different radio markets 180 miles away from each other. Unreal.

I sat on side stage monitor for Wet Willie in 1978 at Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis. I was 11 years old. My father was in Jerry Jeff Walker band playing Steel, and they played a triple header that night. Marshall Tucker, Jerry Jeff, and Wet Willie. What a night! Spent my life re-living that night! Wet Willie was amazing, and this song got me through my toughest times.

Love seeing all of these live performances of songs I grew up listening to on the radio. What a treasure Midnight Special is!

This song brings me back to the 70s. Real musicians performing live, and great vocals, with no autotune. The backup singers are outstanding!

Still play this song at least 3X a week while driving around doing errands. What a fantastic song from a fantastic generation of musical talent. Long before the Freak Off parties, auto tune and favoritism in music.

Met Jimmy Hall a few years ago in Muscle Shoals Alabama. Still puts on a GREAT show and a true hearted, truly grateful man. As down to earth as they come.

The duo of women singing background vocals dubbed "The Williettes" were a staple of the classic Wet Willie sound that featured Jimmy and Jack's sister, Donna Hall, and Ella Brown Avery.
