Zdena Studenková – Láska bez slov [disco, Slovakia 1980]

It is pretty unknown that the famous Slovak actress Zdena Studenková made a small music career around 1980. She recorded around 5 solo songs for the Czechoslovak radio and television in Bratislava, 3 of them appeared on compilation series "Dvanásť do tucta – Diskotéka Opusu". Two of them were also released on 7-inch single. Nevertheless, these recordings are still super rare. This song is taken from the LP compilation "Diskotéka Opusu 5" released in 1980. Its composer Ivan Horváth has developed in the late 1970´s his own disco style significant for him and at the end, he was one of the very few Slovak composers who caught the real 70's disco wave. His dreamy and nostalgic melodies with wah-wah guitar effect, disco beat, funky bass and early synthesizers were super popular that time in Czechoslovakia and many people still recognise them. "Láska bez slov" is definitely one of the best of few Slovak disco songs.
