NFL Draft preview: What will the Panthers do on draft day?

With the NFL Draft two weeks away, conventional wisdom tells us the Carolina Panthers will likely select a defensive player with their first overall pick.

And perhaps the majority of their nine selections will be spent on defense.

"They will go pretty defense-heavy in this draft. I'd be stunned if they didn't," Charlotte Observer beat writer Mike Kaye told Nick Carboni in the WCNC Charlotte LIVE Impact News Studio.

But is there a chance Carolina uses the eighth pick on an offensive weapon to help Bryce Young, like Arizona receiver Tet McMillan or Penn State tight end Ty Warren?

Kaye thinks that's a possibility if the team is not able to receive a trade offer for No. 8 that's to their liking.

Great vid. Share the sentiment on Walker. Tuff situation

First one out the gate. We have 8 or 9 guys that can catch the ball. But you want another one. We have one bona fide S and only 3 CBs, but you want a WR1. Fantasy football has done nothing to further overall football knowledge.

The Major weakness on D-Line is Strong Side Edge Rusher. So the Pick is probably going to be Mykel Williams or Shemar Stewart 😔 Unless... they're comfortable with Mike Green off the field stuff 🙏🙏

Not a YAC guy is crazy work! What film did you watch Mike? But I definitely like Golden better!

Haven't read any comments yet. How many WR1 comments will there be?

I see the Panthers Trading Back from #8 with the Steelers who move up before the Saints to grab QB Sanders and get the Steelers #21, #83 and their 2026 1st Round Pick for doing so
