What are the myths about inequality? Where do they come from and is there any reasoning behind them? In his talk Prof. Fratzscher addresses common misconceptions about inequality. He analyzes main driving forces that contribute to the built up of inequality in the society and suggest the solutions of what can be done to address this issue. Marcel Fratzscher is President of DIW Berlin, one of the leading, independent economic research institutes and think tanks in Europe, Professor of Macroeconomics and Finance at Humboldt-University Berlin, and Chair of the German government expert committee on “Strenghtening investment in Germany”. Moreover, he is member of the advisory board of the German development, non-profit Deutsche Welthungerhilfe and member of the supervisory board of the Hertie School of Governance.

He is also missing the point of so called "populist movements". First of all, they were not very popular at all, cause they target mostly the right things. Secondly, they are mostly national-conservative, not nationalist. Stereotyping however is true, but that's a stilistic model and it's used by EVERY party to simplify things. Most reforms are politically ideologic, not caring about individual and most important personal rights, so they create political winners and political losers. That is not real competition!
