AMT Managing Editor Kathy K. Webster interviews Hubert Sawicki, AMT Representative for Europe, about the Poles tremendous response to aid hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, mostly women and children as they seek shelter from their homeland.

“We have a long-shared history. We are eager to help in any way we can. With food, rides, places to sleep.” Sawicki retells how, at the request of friends, he was able to drive 500 miles to make contact with three refugees and bring them to Warsaw. Sawicki also recounts the long history of the two countries and their commonalities – giving even great perspective to the Polish response.

Our hearts go out to the Ukrainians fighting for their homeland and the refugees fleeing. Glory to Ukraine.
