In an intriguing anecdote from the making of "Superman" (1978), Roger Moore recounted in his autobiography that he witnessed a fascinating phenomenon involving the film's star, Christopher Reeve. Moore observed Reeve walking through the Pinewood Studios canteen in full Superman attire, causing a commotion of adoring female fans in his wake. However, when Reeve donned his Clark Kent disguise and walked through the same canteen, no one even glanced in his direction. Interestingly, this phenomenon mirrors the real-life experience of Harold Lloyd, a famous silent film actor who, when not filming and without his signature round glasses, went completely unrecognized by the public. Lloyd's own experience served as inspiration for the character of Clark Kent, who uses his glasses as a means of concealing his true identity from the public. #shorts #superman #didyouknow #moviefacts #moviedetails #supermanlegacy

His body language as Clark was completely different than his body language as Superman. He was just phenomenal. ❤️

And we finally get an explanation of how Superman could disguise himself with just a pair of glasses.

Since the inception of Superman, people have always made fun of the whole “glasses disguise” thing… but Christopher Reeve managed to actually make it plausible by his acting alone.

Reeve nailed Clark Kent. It wasn't just the glasses it was his whole demeanor and personality.

No disrespect to the other actors who played Superman (and Kent), but Reeve was excellent at being a bumbling nerd and then being a superhero. The hair, shoulders/chest, demeanor, and attitude between the two characters showed that Reeves was a great actor.

Its not just glasses. Clark kent slouches and has an overall meeker demener. Reed portrayed this beautifully in film.

I'm sure the Superman costume helped him to be noticed.

Uniforms and superhero suits makes the wearer attractive.

It also goes to show how well Reeve was at that character. They thought he was just a guy. Exactly what Clark always intended.

Cary Grant in “Bringing Up Baby” served as the inspiration of Clark Kent. Reeve said it in an interview. However, Harold Lloyd influenced a young Cary Grant.

Also many people nowadays don't know Harold Loyd never used stunt men in perilous scenes. He did it himself.
