Chase will be a deserving winner of this series, no question… but then both his major 450 championships will have been won when the dominant rider has had an unfortunate injury and put them out for the season. Tomac an Achilles and Jett a training mishap which none were caused by racing accidents while racing with Chase. Let’s face it, Chase would be forever chasing Jett if he was there, Tomac would probably be stealing a few 2nd places off him and maybe a win here and there… and let’s not forget that Hunter in his first season is keeping him honest as well.
What I am also noticing is the lack of comments about the depleted field Chase is racing against without Webb, Roczen, Tomac and Jett on the start gate. We couldn’t get enough of that chestnut observation last year when the upstart Aussie Rookie clean swept the championship.
