It's really sad they can't get the funding to do more sterilisations. Malaysia has an incredible amount of wildlife and a huge, freely breeding cat population can easily become an ecological disaster. I hope the cat sanctuary continues its really important work, not just to save vulnerable cats, but also to help protect Malaysia's wildlife!

Long ago I took my old kitty, Sid, for walks on his leash on the beach when I lived in San Clemente, CA! I thought he might enjoy the endless litter box, but he just liked greeting people and playing with seashells! 😻🐚😊

I live in And I use to volunteer at an animal shelter.... And every time I found a kitten on the streets .... Maybe in pain or maybe abandoned... I call the shelter... And they give me a million excuses to get rid of the kitten or cat. For a country with so many cats... They have such a small space for cats... Like 1 room... The rest of the huge animal shelter is for dogs.... I don't get why they couldn't make it equal.

I saved alot of cats 79 i have 19 here now and kittens i care and love to help them but it does get hard cause i am doing it on my own like getting them fixed and things but i would not have it any other way

This is so awesome! There is a documentary called Kedi (HIGHLY recommend) about the street cats in Istanbul and there is definitely a different culture about the cats there than in the US as well. Everyone takes care of them like you showed in this video. It’s really touching to see.

I love how healthy and happy the cats seem to be. It's cool how a different approach to cat welfare is still working. Malaysia seems to be doing this in a way that's better for the cats, as opposed to other cat-tourist hot spots like Aoshima in Japan.
