Hey Bulldogs! John Sonmez from Bulldog Mindset Here, where I teach you how to go from the Victim Mindset to the Bulldog Mindset, how to be a man and how to become the best version of yourself!

Today's video is about creating your routine and maximizing your productivity. I've talked in many other videos of mine that you can only do about 4 to 6 hours of focused work everyday, but I've also told you, that you need to work 12 to 14 hours a day like a maniac...

So how does these things add up and balance out? they sound like a paradox, however that's what I'm expand on and explain in this video!

This one as always was a request from one of you guys, this follower of mine heard me say that when I was starting my business I wasn't doing anything other than working out, work on building simple programmer and sleeping, where I end up working 12 hours or working 14 hours a day, which as I said he found it contradictory because I said that I can only have 6 hours of focused work per day, so how can I work 12 hours?

The things is, not every task demand hyper focus, when I was first starting out with my business I was working 12 hours a day, I was doing pomodoro technique for about 3 to 6 hours a day, but the rest of my work didn't require me to be focused, it was zombie like brain dead work, like responding to E-mail, responding to blog post comments, editing videos, writing some blog posts, skype calss, editing... stuff that aren't really mentally demanding...

That's what I meant when I said I was grinding and working 12 hours or working 14 hours a day... There are combination of tasks that you're meant to do, some that are mentally demanding, other not so much, you can do them on autopilot mode.

Anyways guys I'll go more in depth on this topic, in the video so make sure you watch it till the end.

Hopefully this one was of benefit to you and I shall see you in the next video!

Take care everybody!

And here I am, hating life, feeling like it's so unfair, feeling like some people have it super easy, but no doing any real effort to make the things I want to create to change my life. You have woke me up, again.

John I'm so glad you brought this up! I always felt like I was falling short when I listened to other successful people say how they're working 12 to 14-hour days when my brain is fried after about 5 to 6 hours. And like you, I would actually keep working but it would be something that didn't require as much brain power. So your video made me feel a lot better to know that hey - maybe I am actually on the right track! Thank you for all you do I appreciate it.

Technically working out was leisure as it wasn't work. Hope people don't think copying such a pattern is a good idea or in any way healthy. There is so much research out there about the need to de-stress, relax, and relationships in maintaining mental health, productivity, and energy levels. It's no different than making time for quality sleep, you just can't cheat it.

How would you suggest to do that if one is for instance working at a 9-5 (coding) and doing a side project on their free time? Because the 9-5 will require my 12 pomodoros, but the side project also requires mental energy, which is hard to come by by after so much deep work

I average 6 hours a day of programming and have done so for the last year. What's worse is I work hourly, so that's only 6 hours logged a day. I don't have the mental stamina...

Should everyone do the focused work straight in a row? 6 hrs straight?

It souunds smarter to me to break it up, 3hr super focused work, 3 hrs tedious menial work.

It's 5 in the morning I'm editing videos for more than 12 hours straight. I'm a freelance video editor. It sucks but you gotta do what you gotta do.
