Hi Fi Rush Studio Tango Gameworks Saved By PUBG Publisher

The Hi Fi Rush creator Tango Gameworks will be purchased by Krafton Inc. the publisher behind games like PUBG. This purchase was made from Microsoft for an undisclosed amount and Krafton has confirmed that no one at Tango Gameworks will lose their job and that the Hi Fi Rush IP will continue likely resulting in a Hi Fi Rush 2 in the future. The Hi Fi Rush Studio was sold by Microsoft after making the critically acclaimed Hifi Rush and many were left wondering the studios fate. Xbox even released a Hi Fi Rush PS5 version to see if that would sell. However this is a very happy story as the Hi-Fi Rush studio will retain all employees and allow them to keep making the series.

Any closure like this should be met with public exposure/letting the public or outside companies have the chance at taking the reigns. It shows goodwill and makes you look far better as a company than just shutting them down or making people think they were fully shut down.

I've read it this morning it was a pleasant surprise. This means that they might now release the Evil within 3 as a multiplatform. Shame on Microsoft for losing such a good asian publisher, but at least they had the decency to sell them to someone else.

Man what a stupid mistake by Microsoft letting them go. I couldn't care less about HiFi rush, but people clearly love it.

They should've just kept them on a small budget and not put so many expectations on them. It's the ONE game by Xbox studios that was universally loved by fans in OVER TEN YEARS and even appreciated by people who don't even care about the game.

Hopefully this means we will see that physical release come to be, it was announced with limited run (would prefer if it was from somewhere else) before the news of the shutdown but if they're back then maybe the deal can be completed (at worse restarted). 🤞

MS does deserve some credit here. They literally could have closed the doors, took the IP and walked away, yet they sorted out a deal with Krafton and saving the jobs of many. This is quite unexpected from a mega corporation to go out of their way like this.
