For this month's meetup, Jeremy Boyd (that's me!) will be kicking off a series on Django. The talk is aimed at two main groups of people: 1) folks who are familiar with Python but have never used it to develop a web app (looking at you, data scientists), and 2) professional programmers coming from other languages or fields such as embedded computing. We'll kick off with a discussion of HTTP so that we're all speaking the same language, then move on to getting your first project set up and taking Django out for a spin. The project we build should help cement your understanding of HTTP and how Django conceptualizes requests and responses.
