The Android N Developer Preview is now available (shocking, I know) and we've got a 2 part video series to show you what's new. In this first video, we take a look at the new notifications, quick settings panel, multi-window, and settings menu.

Video starts at 1:51, doesn't even touch the screen before that. Just takes 2 mins to explain what the title already tells you. Multi-window starts at 8:47

double tap on app switcher takes you back to your previous app too!

hamburger menu in the settings is definitely useful for navigation; everyone has that moment where they leave a settings page, scroll down and then think to themselves "hmmm, maybe i shouldn't have left that so quickly, now i've got to find it again", and the hamburger menu puts a stop to that since all you have to do is push the draw back in.

I really want Google to add fingerprint security for individual apps. Imagine if you wanted to keep sensitive info in your google keep app, for instance, and in order to access the app, you had to use a fingerprint to unlock.

Seems pretty cool. I have a Note 5 so multi windows isn't something new but I like where they are going. Also I noticed @ the 10:38 mark the right button icon changed from the normal to a more of a stacked window look... that's kinda cool, subtle but cool.

Great video! Android N looks promising based on you all video. this is what Marshmallow should have been as final build. smh. At least they know now! Bout time! please let us know about the battery life and Ram management. are you all doing project Fi? if you guys are please let me know if they are any issues with the Fi service. I would flash, but I don't want to risk it on my Nexus 6 right now. I'm using this as my main device and Project Fi. that's why I'm curious. I'll keep posted.

They might have planned to release the stable version at Google I/O .
So, why not release developer preview 2 months before and her the feedback??

I kinda wanna get a Nexus 5X just so I can put Android N on it instead of my Nexus 6P. I am loving this update!

You could also double tap on the app switcher to toggle between 2 most recent apps. Just thought you should have included this in your video.

On another note, too much hand gestures and pointing imho.

Kinda feels like Blackberry had a minuscule part in the developing, I'm probably all the way wrong on this, but just kinda seems like that to me.

They should add pin options to notifications and also pin option for some of the recent apps

I hope video apps get a pop up mode or floating window...splitscreen would be horrible for that.
