Capture a Signature with jQuery and HTML 5 (part 2)

Показать описание
In this second part of this series we complete our signature capture application by storing the

signature data on the server in a text file that we later fetch with a jQuery AJAX call and display

it to the user. This technique is cross browser friendly and works in IE7, 8, 9, Chrome, Firefox and

Safari. It will also work on most mobile device touch screens.

I've been working with this for a few days and am having trouble with the server side php. When I submit an image, the page appears to refresh. Meanwhile nothing is happening on the text document. I uploaded one (after trying without one), but i'm still just seeing a 0kb file. What do you think i'm missing? I pretty much copied your process.

Thanks in advance

Hi! Thanks for this module. Is it possible to output the created image to a image file instead of a text file? I'm trying to send the signature as an image to an email through phpmailer... Thanks for your help!

Can you, instead of overriding the text file, create a new one named like textfile(2) so that you can keep a record of all sigs?
