I like what you say, even just from the title. KYC defies the purpose for crypto

I have given out so much kyc information to ico's exchanges etc over the past couple of years and it just makes me absolutely sick to think about it!

Not your keys, not your crypto. No to KYC, yes to more KFC.

KYC is a burden to crypto users (my opinion), I don't want to trust a 'private' entity with my personal identification details and just as you explained how some exchanges will only drop it on you, when you want to withdraw, I was 'forced' to provide KYC just to get my coins (I will never do that again). My last epic failure was to buy ETN and because of their wallet's KYC requirements, I left my coins on the exchange (Cryptopia, most would know how that panned out), so now 10k of ETN out of pocket has made me avoid (like the plague) any CEX that requires KYC. I see DEX's as the only solution so now I'm into Apollo (APL), I just hope it goes well.. So far, so good :)

That's is the same as card transactions you take payments and they old your customers payments until you hand over every little detail about you and your business

Google/Facebook gather my information, sell it to advertisers, but I refuse to buy anything.

Watch out about Binance! I just tried to withdraw my BTC and they asked me to proceed with KYC for security reason.

Well said. People need to know that this is an important issue. It's worrying to see how people are conditioned into accepting invasions of privacy.

Why the hell would anyone give up KYC to some random exchange? I would only give KYC to the gov and that's about it.

Surely you must have heard of Blocknet? BlockDX allows exchanging through atomic swaps, straight from your privately owned wallets.

Scared the hell out of me. I thought it was "KFC is a scam" and we had only been getting 10 secret herbs & spices !!!

KYC is the biggest scam ! My coins are locked on many exchanges because i WILL NOT KEEP GIVING THEM "FRESH" SELFIES.

So @Crypto Tips in your opinion, what's the best option to buy crypto? Something like Bisq?

Yes I think KYC should not be done. Consider exchanges are really private businesses, therefore they should be trying to gain customers and not make people do a KYC, at very least, the min requirements if its needed. In general, depending on who the person is and what country they are from, don't need to do a KYC and give that information to trade crypto. I agree I think its an undercover way to make the powers that be know who is into crypto. Also welcome back to YT, we all missed you lol. Good work on this video today. thanks!

Well said Crypto Tips - this is an important topic - and needs to be discussed a LOT more, because frankly things like KYC and AML are crippling the smooth functioning of the whole Crypto industry. We need to get past these old holdovers of the past age of darkness and move into the bright new realm of Crypto which is DESIGNED for freedom and equity.

Anywhere there is exit to a nation's fiat or CBDN/CBDC you will have to comply to a global governance kyc and aml laws.

Awesome video, keep up the good work. People just give up info in the name of safety, even though ironically KYC exposes your info to possibly being obtained by hackers.

I thoroughly agree with you! However... can you recommend _any_ exchange at all that does not require KYC *and* has decent liquidity? That's where I'm stumped
