In this short video Dr Chloe Farahar explains what neurodiversity is, and how this relates to the need to be accepting of neurodivergent ways of experiencing the world, such as being Autistic, having attention differences (ADHD/ADD), and voice hearing.

Some of the dialogue is based on Dr Chloe Farahar and Louis Bishopp-Ford's chapter in the Neurodiversity Reader:

Chloe concludes by saying: "Neurodiversity is a fact, and it is fundamental that people understand the normalcy of diversity, particularly so that we can collectively fight the social inequalities and dynamics that oppress and harm those considered abnormal or disordered – the neurominorities in our society."

I like to describe myself as an "Askie", based on Autistic Spectrum Condition- ASC (not Autistic Spectrum Disorder). I also like it because it accommodates those with PDA as well as the many who still like the term "Aspie".

I've always chosen Divergent - because I can think out of the box. I think my cat is autistic... she's more neurotic than I am! LOL
