I don't get the hate on the Iris scanner. I have the Note 9 and considered one of the new phones for about 2 seconds. After pulling myself back from wasting money (no shade on the new phones... just trying to break my new phone every 6-8 months cycle), knowing the Iris scanner is gone is a deal breaker. I use the Iris scanner all the time. I hate face unlock (on Android) because it's not secure. The iris scanner was way more secure. I put my phone in a holder when I get in my car. I look at my phone and it's unlocked. I wouldn't feel so secure just using facial recognition. I just don't get why there's so much hate on the iris scanner. Especially considering the S10+ is $1000.

I found that washing my hands thoroughly with hot water then drying them thoroughly before registering fingerprints makes the sensor a lot less picky during future unlocks. Also if you don't use other fingers to unlock like myself then registering both thumbs twice helps as well

However you can hard press the home button for Google Assistant. So no, the pressure sensitivity isn't gone, it just has a singular use now.
