CSUN graduate here. I would not say the campus is huge and thus you'll miss classes because of the distance. The land area of the college is big, but 90% of the classrooms are in the south part of the campus, with the buildings relatively close together. You don't need to drive between the classrooms.

Soo helpful! All of this was on point, I go to school here and I love it. Use as many of the resources that are offered.

I understand the thing about classes being far away from each other, but they are walking distance, don't worry.

I went here. I agree, parking is crazy.

As someone who recently graduated from CSUN, they've taken great strides in making parking MUCH easier. In my two years at the university, I rarely had parking issues.

I attended CSUN from 1998 to 2002. In my freshman year, the college dorms were almost brand new (they had to demolish the old dorms due to the Earthquake) and both wings of the primary library were under repair. Some of my classes were in trailers since the college was still reeling from quake damage! I'm a bit jealous of the new athletic rec center, as that didn't exist when I was enrolled there, heh. As for parking, even back then it was a complete nightmare but I didn't have a car at the time so it didn't affect me.

CSUN class of 97 and I remember ridesharing. Asking students to drive them to their car so we could get there parking spots. If it wasn’t for working in the mail room you would never get classes, priority registration was a key to getting out of Northridge.

I really doubt you went here as you can't pronounce the schools acronym and its actually pretty small place if you walk decently fast

This is the way it was at CalStateLA in 2019. When they finally built the new parking lot early 2020, the pandemic hit but we got a partial refund. The posting was way better. CSUN is still a good school.

I went to CSUN 25 years ago. I did not like it. The teachers were not friendly, and I felt they really did not care what students thought.

For example, when I turned in my transcripts for evaluation, I had to turn them in to a quonset hut because they were moving. An elderly woman said, I'll take them; you have nothing to worry about. I asked for a receipt. She hesitated as if she was offended that I did not trust her.

Well, she gave me a receipt, and they ended up losing three of the six transcripts. I talk with my evaluator, and she required me to send in a receipt that I got from the elderly lady; so I did. The evaluator, "Karen, " said that she knew who signed the receipt, but that I would still have to send in additional transcripts because she couldn't do anything. It did not matter about my feelings on the matter; it was like I was lucky to be attending college and to keep my mouth shut.

CSUN is a conservative school, where you do not have a right to education; it's a privilege, and you better be darn sure that you appreciate that privilege even though it's crappy education.

Class of 2020, Lived all 4 years in the dorms. Pretty much what everyone else has said but the pictures they show of the residence hall is not accurate that is a building where students have class.
