Exploring MAYAN RUINS in Mexico [Kohunlich, Dzibanché & Kinichná] 2019

Join us on a private taxi tour as we go exploring Mayan Ruins in Mexico. We will see the sites of Kohunlich, Dzibanché, and Kinichná.

There are Mayan archaeological sites in this area, settled between 200 BC to 900 AD. Many were first discovered in the early 1900s and plenty more remain, waiting to be excavated.

Kohunlich is a really big site with 14 remains to explore, including the famous Temple of the Masks. Alas, it is a stop for cruise excursions so expect lots of people.

Dzibanché and Kinichná were I favorite by far as we were the only visitors for both sites. This made our visit particularly magical.

We paid each 1500 MXN which is about 78 USD for a private 6-hour taxi tour.

Yay! The video I’ve been waiting for! I love visiting ruins. I have been to Mayan ruins in Belize but not Mexico. These are very cool!

Also, the cemetery was so cute. Looks like a celebration instead of depressing like in the US.

Trying to choose between Kohunlich, Dzibanche, and Chacchoben, and I have kids 13 & 9 along that want to climb some ruins. Looks like Chacchoben cannot be climbed - only to the ropes that are not high up (correct me if I'm wrong). Are we able to climb a lot at Kohunlich & Dzibanche? Which of those 2 is the better choice, especially for climbing & beauty?
