The only nitpick is the use of 100watt 12volt panels. Ditch those and get some bifacial, residential style. 10, 370watt Aptos panels are cheap when on sale. Better production on cloudy days. Oh, and batteries. Batteries, batteries, batteries. Otherwise, very cool build.

"Just this little setup here powers EVERYTHING" he says, after detailing how everything runs off gas. Your solar panels are powering a few LED bulbs, two fans and a mini fridge. Everything else runs off gas.

moving the panels closer to the battery would also help. Running DC long distance is hard, maybe put battery in insulated box next to panels, then run your AC the longer distance. Would definitely help on those low production cloudy days.

Great video and great built. Very nice build on the solar stand. As high as the stand is off the ground for the solar panels, this is where you would benefit using bi-facial solar panels because of the ambient light provided by the space. Signature Solar has some great prices on 400W bi-facial panels made by Aptos. You would also benefit from an off grid system by EG4 where in that small space you could easily get 10KW with a 3000w inverter for less the price of the EcoFlow. I love EcoFlow and I own 7 units from them but sometimes you have to cut the umbilical cord and go with server rack batteries. Great Work!

The tiny home is beautiful and it’s self-sufficient, you guys need to add a win turbine with solar to have additional and alternative power when it’s cloudy, , but I love it!

Yes of course this is possible because there's no AC source such as mini split which would most likely not work with the current set up.

Oh hey Robbie, was definitely not expecting to see you here! What a welcome suprise!

Excellent well done great set up. Really enjoyed watching your show.

Bifacial panels helps a lot especially if you had a semi reflective foundation under panels.

Great place and really like the thought that went into the Solar and electrical system.

Igree with some comments that this is more like gas powered system - hybrid solution. Solar is taking energy for lighting and electronics. Heating is done by gas - this is were most kw/h is needed. Still great job - you can stay off grid. To be fully autonomous add just stove and you done.

Don't understand how you "saved" 15K. Unless you mean you didn't spend it on bringing in power you didn't have to worry about 24/7. You can get a quality Champion generator with a remote key fob start/stop, for probably way less than you spent on the experimental one. They will also run on multiple fuels. Interesting build, but again your running a good part of the heavy lifting on gas, so solar is just an assist in your case.

👍 Come on guys, you know lithium doesn't charge after a certain low temp. The battery in that charger is most likely ruined from trying to charge when freezing. You need to remove that battery and just wire the generator to an external heated lithium or regular insulated car battery you could mount just below that gen. Nice place and job on the rental.

Just triple up the solar panels and add more batteries. When i setup my own batteries i ensure it last me 4 days without sun under loads.

Others have said it but those panels are very weak, if the panels are upgraded you don’t need to add more battery storage (of which there is already plenty of).

I also think the same could have been achieved for less than 1/4 if they were willing to use those cheaper Chinese inverters but the eco flow is great for plug n play

Fridge draws only 50w? Seems like BS. Also, your major power loads (heat) use gas? Not sure the point here

Nice you can always upgrade, the Generator pro 4000 and delta pro 3 does support backfeed power to start the generator

Nice, I'd like that as a starter home.

I totally get the practical reason to gas as much as possible, but it would be a very interesting thought excersise to see how much more beefy a setup you'd need to electrify it all.

À couple of small inductive elements Woudnt take much.

Main obstacle is electic water and heat.
