I'm listening to the book at the moment and it does so well at showing the culture of the grots and kharadrons. Absolutely love it and all the characters.

I got an audible membership awhile back and have been blasting through the Black Library catalogue, so thank you for posting these reviews, it makes choosing my next book so much easier! I love dwarves, particularly slayers, like Gotrek, and have always been interested by both KO and GSG, so this’ll be added to the list. As an AOS player, who’s trying to grapple with understanding the mortal realms, who’s never played Fantasy(except for some Total War) if I haven’t read any of the other Gotrek books, is this still a good starting place or should I go to the beginning of the series?

Since Soulslayer book Gotrek has accepted his place in the Mortal Realms, and does not want to die anymore. He wants to live a worthy life and improve life for the common man/aelf/duardin in the Realms and ironically make them less reliant on the gods.
