When I started( 1972)you tied off if you wanted, with only a belt and lanyard. In 2020 you would be wearing a harness with the lanyard coming from the upper middle of your back. 100% tie off, or you get run off. It was damn inconvenient, but the rule.

I am a boring structural steel estimator now, but was an Ironworker first. Local 155 then relocated to Local 229. I would list everything this guy did wrong, but many of you beat me to the punch. The Spanish phrase for these guys is "No mames wey puto"

I’m a concrete finisher and I already see many errors in the first few minutes that would get any true iron worker booted the fuck out. Clearly some rookie ass hacks

Bra carried that Beamer up there and just walked over there not tied off 🤦🏾‍♂️ that’s the quickest way to get ran off a union site

Everytime you roll that dice, theres always that chance. Lucky today but tomorrow is a mystery. All it takes is one roll of the dice to lose everything.

Being a Union Ironworker is definitely better, better safety, better working conditions, and better pay ! Have medical have a pension etc.... They get a paycheck and get fired for what ever the boss feels like firing them for ! F**k that BS
