I had a mirror falling off due to adhesive failure and for some reason the spring tab is missing. Is it crucial that I have one before reinstalling the mirror Or can I get away with just putting it back on the way it was?

So I noticed that the heated mirrors are 5 bucks cheaper.
I would buy them and remove wiring.
