EggBot Clone (Sphere o Bot), Simple Christmas/Easter project to customize your Christmas decorations and/or your Easter Eggs.
All this is using an Arduino Uno card and a CNC Shield.
In this video we will see the assembly, the software part, the configuration and various settings, to the realization of custom Christmas balls.

At 13:36 you say to remember to put all 6 jumpers on and in the video you point out specifically yet you never install any jumpers in the video at any point. Do they need to be added or not? And do each drive need all three jumpers on each?

Many thanks for the excellent explanations. I do run into 1 issue with getting the stepper motors running. Using Arduino UNO with CNC Shield v3 and A4988 stepper drivers. With standard GRBL code on de UNO I can control the stepper motors so I know these are configured correctly. When using the Eggduino it just won't turn the steppers. They turn on and get locked but won't turn. Using the manual tab options in the eggbot extension in Inskape. Servo is working correctly.
Any suggestions where to look?

Inkscape extensions: 23:21, "Replace the existing ebb_serial.py in your inkscape extensions folder with the patched version.", The "extensions" folder does not have the "ebb_serial.py" file. Where is the file used? What documents need to be changed?

TheMiguelBi excellent tutorial. Eggbot works well after adjusting A4988. Only problem I'm having is with plotting layers. I get an error about not receiving a 'str' object but received a 'unicode'. I tried changing the layer name to just a number but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I did everything as you show us on video. Except Arduino UNO is chinese and drivers are DRV8825. Now i have problem with motors. My motor are only humming, they does not want to turn. I did try different voltage and different wire configurations for the drivers and motor.
Can you please tell me what else should i do?

Hello, is it nessesary to have an original Arduino?
In the Device manager i see my Arduino/clone only as CH340 not as Arduino UNO.
I have issues getting recognised in Inkscape. I read im many forums changed Versions of Inkscape, removed the shield etc... help pls

Inkscape is connected to the Bot but i cant move the Steppers.
I can enable the motors and they hold torque, nothing more.
I can control the servo up and down but the motors dont move.
What can i do?

Hi I am using 17HS4401 steppers, 8825 drivers, Vref 0.60V, 12v 2A power, but as soon as i "apply" commands in Inkscape the drivers heat very much instantly. What could be happening?

Buenas acabo de seguir todo tu tutorial y me encuentro con el error de que inkscape no puede encontrar ningun puerto serie. Tengo un arduino original he probado con inkscape 0.48 0.91 0.92, puedes decirme que pasa? gracias

I was able to load the firmware to Arduino but when running Inkscape I get this error:
File "eggbot_scanwin32.py", line 6, in findEiBotBoards

WindowsError: [Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified
I try different Inkscape versions but same results, replace the, py patch files in inkscape extension folder but no change,
do you know if there is something else I am missing?

Hello friend, thank you for your answers, I forgot the jumpers part, now I put them on but it still does not work, I have already tried several files, extensions and nothing and now the drivers get very hot and the one with the motor steps of the pen, the drivers are calibrated to 0.57v have resistance R100 and the engines are 0.9A, I do not know what to do to make this work, sorry you could send me the files that worked for you, please already I'm done a mess, I try the ones that I downloaded from the works page that you told me and I could not get it to work well, help please.
