Eurasian Coots (Fulica atra) are common waterbirds in Australia. Their nests are usually made from dead reeds, and rest on vegetation or are anchored to twigs or rushes. Their nests are often lined with algae or other waterplants. This Coot pair had built their nest in an artificial lake near the Perth CBD in Western Australia. One of the Coots spent a few minutes adding reeds, twigs, leaves and filamentous algae to the nest.

Great video bob! Will be helpful so that I can know when the Eurasian Coot I've befriended, named Cooter and his little girlfriend start nesting soon
