Ethiopia is the oldest Christian country and has the oldest Bible in the world. Ethiopians were Christians in the late 3rd century.

I mean the Nubian (Ethiopian) unuch definitely took the gospel back to his kingdom. It’s not like the Holy Spirit just stayed in Europe and in the Middle East. We need more history about the gospel going throughout Africa and Eastern Asia. Along with South America

There are Christian cemeteries and churches that have been discovered that date back before then, they date to the 4th and 5th century and some as early as the 3rd century, places like Mauretania, Numidia, it wasnt until islam came during the 7th century and became the more dominant religion.

Not just in 1300 AD. It's way older than that. Ethiopia became a Christian kingdom in the 4th century. Way much earlier than British/England.

I see some are mentioning Ethiopia. Yes, that's well established. But the West African story is not well told.

Thats a trick question. Slavery is older than any religion. But if we are talking about european/american slavery then absolutely yes, it was.

Christianity was present in Africa, long before colonization; gospel of Thomas & gospel of Mary and many other gospels were found nearby nag Hammadi, Egypt, possibly written in 70 to 90 AD to the latest 140 AD; and African nation was a strong nation back in time during Rome including Egypt, was not the subject for colonization by Western countries; also, Jesus is a first messiah, delivering a teaching of having one God for all, from slave to King, women to men, the poor and ill to the rich and well, all equally can go to Heaven, Kingdom of God if you believe in Jesus and God, He never taught a teaching of racism, but I do agree that certain individual, including a Pastor and Priest who used Christanity for wrong reasons and for oppression and abuse of power to commit sins but that is not the teachings of what Jesus taught us and these men are a product of evil sprits; in the Bible, blasphemy is an unforgettable sin, and no matter if he is a King, or a Priest, if he used the name of God for wrong reasons, his sins will not get forgiven according to Bible; also, the early Christanity is all about showing forgiveness, mercy, and love for one another, just like how Jesus lived his life to save others and he died in the cross for saving all of us, and how he spent all of his power and life to show love and mercy; today's Bible is not really purely representing the early Christanity since religions have been used for abuse of power and authority; but Christanity itself is the one; regardless our color of skin, our background, God and Jesus chose us to be the one; you are powerful, you are beautiful, and you are brave and stronger than anyone because God is within us, that is the true teaching of Jesus, and he does not see any difference between a white man and a black man. You are all children of God.

Y'all don't understand history nor research it enough to understand it. You're talking about 1300s, but the Ptolomiac Empire put Christianity together during the Hellenistic era of Egypt, you know, when Greece and Rome ruled. This is so far before slavery. This was when Christianity was created from African tablets and scrolls along the Nile. Slavery just reused its polished version as a tool. And no, Ethiopia is not the oldest Christian country nor is it's book the first bible. It has the oldest known bible, and Ethiopia was one of the first to be indoctrinated with Christianity. I swear, y'all look at videos and swear you know the truth. Try going down the rabbit hole and actually cracking open books and doing the research.

Stop lying there weren't any Christians in West Africa at that time. What you found and won't tell the truth about those were the Jews and Israelites they weren't no damn Christians but keeping the Torah and the prophets and belief in Christ. That's not Christianity

I don't like this title because slavery has always existed for more than 6, 000 years. And also Christianity fully moved to Europe during the time Rome was world power. And I can say it got to Africa shortly after Jesus died through the Ethiopian Eunuch

And the last places it got to where the continents of America and Australia about 1, 500 years ago

It wasn’t Christianity. It was Hebrew Israelite culture. We followed torah before the other nations came to ruin us - and that all happened because of our disobedience Deuteronomy 28:15-68 explains this.

In the 15th century, Christianity came to Sub-Saharan Africa with the arrival of the Portuguese. In the South of the continent, the Dutch founded the beginnings of the Dutch Reform Church in 1652.

In the interior of the continent most people continued to practice their own religions undisturbed until the _19th century_ At that time, Christian missions to Africa increased, driven by an antislavery crusade of the Sweden/Dutch and the interest of Europeans in colonizing Africa. Sweden/Dutch vs Europeans, mind you. Coined as the Scramble For Africa.
