My route in this video:
The city of Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav is a conurbation of two previously separate cities, each of which has its own rich history. Therefore, in 1960, when the two cities were merged into one, proposals for a new name were not accepted, and the original historical names of both cities were preserved. This created the longest name of a Czech city. The city is located on both banks of the Elbe in the fertile Polabská lowland, which - together with the proximity of the capital city of Prague, which is only about 20 kilometers away - has long influenced the development of the territory of today's city. The Elbe was a vital communication route, especially in the Boleslav part of the borders of archaeological cultures and tribal regions. The first farmers colonized the Elbe basin in the Late Stone Age. There are remains of settlements from the Stone Age and the Bronze Age in the city or its immediate vicinity, the oldest of which, above Kabelín near Záp, dates from 5500–4300 BC. The finds in the city area include the Iron Age, the Roman period, and the migration period nations. The arrival of the Slavs is documented by finds from the 9th century. Stará Boleslav was an essential locality from the beginnings of the Czech Přemyslov state, especially in connection with the expansion of the Czech tribe into the Zlicky and Croatian territories. At the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries, the Old Boleslav castle was built to protect the Elbe ford. A significant event in the city's history was establishing the Old Boleslav chapter in 1052, which is thus the oldest in Bohemia. In the following centuries, the population grew considerably, and settlements spread eastwards. Under Charles IV and Wenceslas IV. new, stronger ones were built on the site of the old Romanesque walls. Charles IV often stayed in these places and hunted black game and big game.
Mělník is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 20,000 inhabitants. It lies at the confluence of the Elbe and Vltava rivers, approximately 35 km (22 mi) north of Prague. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. In the 5th and 6th centuries, many Slavonic tribes lived here, and the tribe of Pšovans created its main settlement in Mělník. Saint Ludmila (the grandmother of Saint Wenceslaus), who married the Bohemian prince Bořivoj I, belonged to this tribe. The coins of Princess Emma are the first demonstration of the existence of Mělník. In November 1274, Mělník gained the statute of town from King Ottokar II of Bohemia and later became a dowry town belonging to the queens of Bohemia. There were nine such towns, and Mělník was one of them.
Říp Mountain (also known as Říp Hill) Georgsberg or Raudnitzer Berg) is a 461 metres (1,512 ft) high solitary hill located 20 km south-east of Litoměřice, Czech Republic. According to national legend, it is the place where the first Czechs settled. The mountain and the rotunda on its top are among the Czech national cultural monuments.Říp, visible from a great distance, has always been an important orientation point in the Bohemian scenery and has attracted attention since the oldest times.
