Paquito D'Rivera (b. 1948, Havana) is a saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer who plays and composes jazz and classical music. In 1973 he and Chucho Valdés founded the group Irakere, which fused jazz, rock, classical, and Cuban music. In early 1980 he sought asylum in the USA. D'Rivera has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, played with orchestras like the National Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic, while also appearing with his quintet and as sideman in jazz venues. D'Rivera's albums, showing his mastery of bebop, classical and Latin/Caribbean music, have received rave reviews from critics. Paquito is the only artist to ever have won Grammy Awards in both Classical and Latin Jazz categories.

Hans Vroomans is principal pianist of the Metropole Orkest and Ruud Breuls was the orkest's trumpet soloist between 1996 and 2014.
