Im thinking of not doing cpc anymore. i live in CA where cost of living is high but i cant find a job that will pay more. Im already getting paid $20/hr and all i know is people getting hired on optum or other remote jobs that hire a lot of cpc-a's. i feel like its not worth it to pay so much money for membership and taking the exam

I find it hard to choose between the Preppy and my community college… I feel like the community college option is the better option for me since they hammer down anatomy and physiology and I have the option of using FAFSA and scholarships for financial aid, vs I don’t believe I can do the same things for other ways of getting certified… plus since the degree is technically under health information technology, maybe I could fall back on something else if I can’t really find a job (although I did see a job opening for a remote position with only 6 months experience at the local university 😭 how I wish I was already certified)

I would love it if you did one of these for CRC cert. Question: If I register for the CRC course this month but probable wouldn't take the exam until January what year coding book should I purchase? TIA, You're awesome. ☺

Thank you for all of your videos!!! Since AAPC won't allow scrap paper for the remote testing but allows their own digital notepad, would you be able to create a video showing examples of how to go through a few cases digitally? I've been using my Word doc for my chapter quizzes, but I feel like I'm writing almost everything down, taking more time than is necessary. Thank you!

This is exactly what I was needing. My test is scheduled for November 3rd and I've been in absolute anxiety/stress frozenness. So thank you!

i followed along with a couple of your lets code videos and was able to put the code together by pausing the video before you gave the answer. would i really need the background in medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology courses required by the aapc for becoming either a certified coder or biller? the goal is to start my own medical business, starting with this as the base for my company, then growing into other areas. they require those 3 courses for both of their certifications. i should also say that i went to school for engineering.

Would CCS work vs CPC? The company I currently work for ask for RHIA, RHIT, or Certified cding specialist to apply for HIM coder III

Hi Victoria, I think I put myself on the accelerated Preppy plan, just because I started off kind of slow the first 3 months lol. I will finish no later than the end of Nov. Just started diving in deep about 3 weeks ago. Just finished an overview on Coding Neoplasms. By the way, I did reach out to Preppy Support about books. They are shipping me the ICD-10-CM and CPT as physical textbooks. The customer support is fantastic by the way. I received a reply the same day (on a Saturday). The course itself is structured very well. The Buck's textbook is packed with info. I would strongly recommend this Preppy course for anyone seriously considering a career in Medical Billing and Coding.

You should know and understand how amazing you are. You are really motivating me to get my stuff together. I am currently not working. I’m going to take this time to get my books etc. I have been in Healthcare for many years. I keep getting crap jobs because I’m not certified. I’m going to invest in myself because I believe that’s my way out of the mud. Thank you.

Is the CRC Exam easier than the CPC exam? I passed the CPC exam and am looking to get the CRC.

I want to challenge myself I probably won’t finish in six weeks but I definitely want to be sitting for my exam in 3 months!

Hi Victoria, I was wondering if it’s possible to pass CPC test just from studying on your own with a set of books from AAPC and not take their course, I think its $3200 with AAPC membership. I’m new to coding but I am familiar with medical terms due to 20 year career in massage therapy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This won’t be covering anatomy and physiology and medical terminology will it?👀
